Explore Oahu's South Shore and East Side, from mauka to makai - from the mountains to the sea. Indulge in a shave ice, Portuguese malasada (donut) or exotic fruits. Optional 2-mile lighthouse hike. From surfers below Diamond Head Lookout, through the Kahala neighborhood's bungalows and beach-front mansions you arrive at the rocky cliffs of Oahu's furthermost eastern point. Take in the many shades of clear blue water below and the lush Ko'olau mountains above. Venture onto Waimanalo's back roads for a taste of rural Oahu. Enjoy a snack or lunch in Kailua Town before heading uphill to Pali Lookout, site of King Kamehameha's successful final battle.
